Field report: hydraulic oil cleaning at a South Gobi mine
On-site, while the machines kept working
Last month our mobile cleaning unit spent a week at a coal mine in the South Gobi. The task: clean the hydraulic systems of three large excavators that showed elevated particle counts after the dusty summer season.
Working in kidney-loop mode during normal operation, the unit processed 4,800 litres of oil. Laboratory verification showed an improvement from ISO 22/19 to ISO 16/13 — well within OEM targets — and water content cut by two thirds.
The oil stayed in service, the machines stayed in production, and the customer avoided a six-figure oil replacement.
